One of my closest friends was diagnosed with melanoma. Even before he was diagnosed, we had begun drifting apart because after high school we both went to different universities. After his diagnosis we drifted even farther apart. There were times when he was in town for weeks at a time and we didn't so much as talk to each other. I don't know if this is because i didn't like being around him because i couldn't help feeling bad for him and the situation he has found himself in, or if it was because it reminded me how I should have been a better friend these past few years, especially when he was going through treatments. Through this site I hope to reconnect with my friend, and offer my support, as well as connect with other people going through the same experience.
